eVisa
What is eVISA?
eVISA is an online application platform that enables foreign nationals to apply for an electronic visa to enter Republic of Guinea at the comfort of your convenience.
Who is eligible for eVISA?
Every foreign national who wishes to enter Guinea. Some countries are exempt from visas under bilateral agreements with Guinea. Kindly check the list in advance before submitting an e-visa request.
How long will my eVISA be valid for?
Validity of eVISA depends on the type of eVisa approved or issued to the eVisa holder.
What is the approval process for eVISA?
Your application is subject to for approval by the competent seventy-two (72) hours from the date the application. However, if a visa is denied, you will be notified via the registered email by the competent Authority.
Kindly be informed that in the event of suspicion, applicants may be required to supply further documents.
Upon arrival at Conakry Airport, you are required to proceed to the designated area for visa issuing counter. Kindly be reminded that your eVISA’s Registration Receipt is crucial and must be presented to perform the applicant’s biometric enrollment. Applicant photo and fingerprint will be captured at the visa issuing counter and delivered immediately.

What documents do I need to apply for eVISA?
Below are the documents that need to be scanned and uploaded with your application.
- Passport front page as per Sample.
- Passport size photo (white background)
- Confirmed Return flight booking.
- Yellow fever certificate
- Other documentation depending on visa types
The Guinean Government issues Eight (8) types of visas to foreign nationals:
I. Single Entry Visa (VCS)
This is issued to foreign nationals who declares their wish to enter Guinea for a period not exceeding ninety days (< 90 days).
Conditions for the Single Entry Visa (VCS) are:
- Passport size photo (white background);
- a scanned copy of valid passport’s datapage
- a valid return ticket.
- Yellow fever certificate
II. Long Term Visa (VLS)
This visa is only issued to any foreign national staying in Guinea after the expiration of a period of three months from their entry into national territory. It is granted to foreign nationals wishing to settle in Guinea. Its validity is 1 year from the date of issuance. .
Conditions for the Long Term Visa (VLS) are:
- Passport size photo (white background);
- a scanned copy of valid passport’s datapage;
- a scanned copy of previous visa (Porogation Visa);
- a valid retur ticket
- Yellow fever certificate.
- The repatriation guarantee :
- A contract of employment duly approved by the authorities for foreign nationals desirous of engaging in salaried employment in Guinea;
- or an authorization to practice a liberal profession or to promote an agricultural, industrial, commercial, artistic or other activity, issued by the competent authorities, if such an authorization is required;
- or a deed evidencing a marital relationship, for a spouse, or a parental relationship for minor children;
- or a certificate of registration or reregistration issued by an institution’s authorities, for students;
- or an internship agreement, for interns.
III. Multiple Entry Visa (VESRM)
Foreign nationals from special treaty countries are eligible to apply for the Multiple Entry Visa (VESRM). Its validity varies between 3 to 5 years and depends on the bilateral commitment between Republic of Guinea and the treaty countries.
Conditions for the Multiple Entry Visa (VESRM) are:
- Passport size photo (white background);
- a scanned copy of valid passport’s datapage
- a valid return ticket.
- Yellow fever certificate
IV. Visa Prorogation (VP)
Prorogation Visa (VP) is extended to foreign nationals based on the previous/existing visa type the person was granted for.
Conditions for the ProrogationVisa (VP) are:
- Passport size photo (white background).
- a scanned copy of valid passport’s datapage
- a scanned copy of previous visa (VCS/VESRM)
V. Visa de Transbordement (VTB)
The issuance of a transit visa (VTB) is conditional on the presentation of:
- Passport size photo (white background) ;
- a scanned copy of valid passport’s datapage
- a valid airline ticket to the final destination or any other proof of the continuation of the journey ;
- a visa or entry authorization to the country of final destination, where applicable ;
- Yellow fever certificate.
Its validity varies between 3 to 5 days, beyond which the person should obtain a short-stay visa.
VI. Service Visa (VS)
The issuance of a Service Visa (VS) is under the jurisdiction of approval officer. The following documents are required to be provided:
- a valid passport or travel document;
- Scanned copy of passport datapage
- Passport size photo (white background)
- Nomination letter
VII. Diplomatic Visa (VD)
The issuance of a Diplomatc Visa (VD) is under the jurisdiction of approval officer. The following documents are required to be provided:
- a valid passport or travel document;
- Scanned copy of passport datapage
- Passport size photo (white background)
- Appointment letter
VIII. Courtesy Visa (VC)
The issuance of a Courtesy Visa (VC)is under the jurisdiction of approval officer. The following documents are required to be provided:
- a valid passport or travel document;
- Scanned copy of passport datapage
- Passport size photo (white background)
- Appointment letter
What are the documents needed upon arrival at Guinean entry checkpoints?
The following documents are required to be presented upon arrival in Guinea entry checkpoints:
- Valid Passport (with validity more than 6 months)
- Your eVISA Registration Receipt
- Sufficient funds (Cash/ Travellers Cheque/Debit or Credit Cards) to cover expenses during your stay at Guinea
- confirmed Returned flight ticket
- Proof of accommodation
