Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens
The e-Visa system will inform you through email after your visa application is submitted. After the necessary processing, the decision will be made on approval of the application. Once your visa is approved, you will receive an email and approval letter. The Visa approval letter must be shown to the Passport control counter at ports of entry for verification. A copy of e-Visa approval letter is mandatory before travelling to Malawi.Based on the inspection and verification, the Malawian officials at the ports of entry reserves the right to deny entry into Malawi to a holder of an e-Visa with no explanation.
It is a visa which is strictly issued to persons intending to enter Malawi for visits, residence or business.
It is a visa issued to a person holding an official or a service passport on official business visit to Malawi.
It is a visa which is strictly issued to persons intending to transit through Malawi within a period of seven days.
It is a visa which is issued to a person holding a diplomatic passport for official visit or mission to Malawi.
It is a visa issued to a person visiting Malawi with an invitation sent by the Government, but is not entitled to a diplomatic passport. It enables him/her to enter Malawi for the purpose of paying courtesy calls.
Time for Visa Processing : 5 to 7 business days
