Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens

  • General Requirements:
    • Travel the World Visas Service Order Form
    • Submit an original passport, valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Mozambique and with at least 2 blank pages for visa. Amendment pages are excluded.
    • Citizens other than from United States of America and Canada, but living in these countries must submit a copy of their permanent residence status.
    • Fill the visa application form properly. It is very important that you provide all the information required, including the name and address of your place of stay in Mozambique. Please be advised that lack of information may result in delay or even denial of your application.     • Submit two passport size photographs (passport photos must be in color and with a white background).
    • Invitations by non-citizens living in Mozambique must include a copy of “DIRE” as proof of residence.
    • Groups of visitors invited by organizations are required to attach one invitation per visa application form.
    • Persons under the age of 18 must attach a parental travel consent letter and their birth certificate to the visa application form.
    • If the applicant has been in a Yellow Fever endemic country, he must present a Vaccination Certificate, both at the Embassy and at the entry border post.

Additional requirements for Work Visa:

Work Visa:

  • Copy of authorization letter from Ministry of Labor/ Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs in Mozambique.
  • Clean bill of Health (3 months validity)
  • Copy of work contract in Mozambique.
  • Copy of Police Clearance from your current residence, authenticated by the U.S. Department of State in D.C. and recognized by the Embassy of Mozambique. (3 months validity).  Note: Travel the World Visas will be able to assist you with the police report authentication and legalization.

Residence Visa:  

  • Copy of authorization letter from Ministry of Labor/ Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs in Mozambique.
  • Copy of work contract in Mozambique.
  • Copy of Police Clearance from your current residence, authenticated by the U.S. Department of State in D.C. and recognized by the Embassy of Mozambique.  Note: Travel the World Visas will be able to assist you with the police report authentication and legalization.

NOTE: If applying for a work or residence visa, the marriage certificate of the applicants MUST be authenticated by the Secretary of State where the document was issued, and then authenticated by the US Department of State, and legalize by the Embassy of Mozambique.  Travel the World Visas will be able to assist with the entire process of the authentication and legalization.

All consular fees above include a $5 money order fee (consulate/embassy accepts money order only).
